Social Cognition and its Relationship with Job Performance in University Institutions

Resumen

El presente escrito se extracta de la investigación “Relación entre las funciones ejecutivas y la cognición social con el desempeño laboral en la Corporación Universitaria Minuto de Dios seccional Bello” realizada en 2019. La cognición social como parte fundamental de los procesos cognitivos superiores y de la interacción Persona – Ambiente se presenta como actor protagónico en el trabajo y en sus manifestaciones, es decir, el nivel de desempeño laboral está íntimamente ligado a las habilidades de interacción social. En el artículo se trabaja con una población conformada por profesores universitarios de la ciudad de Medellín (Colombia) cuyo desempeño es variable pero dentro de los criterios aceptados por esa Institución educativa y que, además, no presentan alteraciones emocionales o enfermedades mentales categorizadas en el DSM-V. A dicha población se le aplican una serie de pruebas que se detallan a lo largo del escrito y se evidencia una relación directa entre cognición social y desempeño.  Este trabajo investigativo promete gran aporte al mejoramiento, no solo del desempeño de los profesores, sino también a la calidad de vida de los mismos y sus familias y al posicionamiento y mejora continua de las IES (Instituciones de Educación Superior).
