RESUMEN
El presente ensayo pretende hacer un recorrido desde 1) la obra crítica que Ariel Dorfman y Armand Mattelart publican -en la década de los setenta- sobre las tiras del Pato Donald de Walt Disney y sus influencias en las sociedades de aquella época, hasta 2) los nuevos paradigmas acontecidos en torno a Donald Trump en relación con las sociedades del simulacro y el exceso de imágenes que rebosan y agotan mediáticamente la vida cotidiana. Este exceso de imágenes simuladas, entre otras cosas, implicó que, en octubre de 2019, los chilenos salieran a las calles para reventar socialmente, para hacer que esa (ir)realidad busque otros horizontes que los de una sociedad influida, en una primera instancia, por las verdades impostadas del Pato Donald y su familia y, posteriormente, por las posverdades de Donald Trump y sus amigos. Falsedades que terminan sobre-colonizando -como una gran mentira- el acervo cultural del país y del mundo, coronado, en estos momentos, con el ya inevitable abismo de una eventual pandemia que obliga al encierro en medio de una incontrolada saturación de noticias falsas.
ABSTRACT
This article intends to make a journey from 1) the critical work that Ariel Dorfman and Armand Mattelart published -in the seventies- about Walt Disney's Donald Duck strips and their influences in the societies of that time, to 2) the new paradigms that occurred around Donald Trump in relation to the societies of simulation and the excess of images that overflow and exhaust daily life in the media. This excess of simulated images, among other things, meant that in October 2019, Chileans took to the streets to burst out socially, to make that (un)reality look for other horizons than those of a society influenced, in the first instance, by the imposed truths of Donald Duck and his family and, later, by the afterlife of Donald Trump and his friends. Falsehoods that end up over-colonizing -like a big lie- the cultural heritage of the country and the world, crowned, at this moment, with the already inevitable abyss of an eventual pandemic that forces the confinement in the middle of an uncontrolled saturation of fake news.
