REVIEW AND EVALUATION PROCESS

The initial receipt of submissions requires a review process that allows discernment of the processes involved in the submission and selection of referees. Therefore, all papers are subjected to a plagiarism detection process through a specialized and free online tool https://smallseotools.com/es/plagiarism-checker/. This process will allow the subsequent evaluation by specialists under the DOUBLE BLIND system (3 EVALUATORS EXTERNAL to the institution whose profile is kept under complete anonymity) as contemplated in the statutes established in the journal and following the guidelines and criteria set out in the instructions for referees. In this sense, the referees will be selected and notified through the official mail of the journal Open Space indicating whether their review process is appropriate, and if it is negative, other evaluators will be selected from the data. After the evaluation process of the research, the author of the research will be notified through the official e-mail about the opinion obtained.

 THE EVALUATION PROCESS:

* All the works presented to consider their publication in ESPACIO ABIERTO will be evaluated by academics of recognized trajectory, qualified by their production in the specific thematic areas that the proposals deal with. Received

* The arbitration system seeks to guarantee the objectivity, suitability and impartiality of the verdicts issued regarding the quality of the work. The Editorial Committee will take special care in the proper selection of dictators with recognized credentials.

* The arbitration system adopted is known as "double blind", which ensures the confidentiality of the process and keeps the identities of the evaluators, as well as those of the authors, in the commitment to avoid reciprocal recognition. Each proposal is delivered to several evaluators, who have approximately 30 days to complete their work.

* The verdict of each dictator will conclude in a recommendation about the desirability of publishing the article submitted for consideration. This should focus on the following qualifications:

- PUBLISHABLE WITHOUT MODIFICATIONS. In this case the document does not require relevant modifications. It is understood that the referee suggests inclusion in future issues.

- PUBLISHABLE WITH LIGHT MODIFICATIONS. In this case the document requires some formal or content type adjustments, which does not imply a significant modification of the way in which it has been submitted and which in no case refer to the substance of the proposed article.

- PUBLISHABLE WITH SUBSTANTIAL MODIFICATIONS. With this qualification the arbitrator will be recommending the realization of important or numerous adjustments to the original document, which implies the modification in a remarkable way of the way in which it has been presented and that, even, refer to the substance of the matter treated.

- NOT PUBLISHABLE. This rating suggests the inconvenience of publishing an article that has serious global deficiencies that make it - under the conditions as presented - invaluable as an original and valuable contribution.

* In all cases, the evaluator must justify and reason their opinions or qualifications, and explain in some detail the errors and absences of the work.

* The general evaluation criteria that should be considered by the arbitrators when issuing their qualification on the works submitted to their evaluation, will be at least the following: - Relevance of the article for a sociology journal; - Importance of the topic; - Originality of the approach; -; - Clarity of the wording; - Methodology; - Development and conclusions; - Mode of presentation, in terms that favor understanding and facilitate the presentation of the subject matter; News of the bibliography.

* Once the required opinions have been completed, if applicable, the Editorial Committee will send them to the author together with the Corrections Chart. 30 days are established for the return of the corrected article if the opinion is PUBLISHABLE (with Slight Modifications, and with Substantial Modifications).

* Although in the Corrections Table the author can express his disagreement with certain precisions of some arbitrator, the results of the evaluation are unappeasable.

* Once the new version has been received with the suggested modifications, together with the corrections table in which the changes are reflected, the Editorial Committee, in coordination with the dictators, will make the respective verification. At the end of this work, you will schedule inclusion in future issues.
