Relação do bullying no ensino médio com o desempenho acadêmico no ensino superior: um estudo de caso na Região Metropolitana do Cariri

Resumen

Este estudo investiga os impactos do bullying no desempenho acadêmico de estudantes universitários na Região Metropolitana do Cariri. Utilizando a metodologia Propensity Score Matching (PSM) e dados primários de 276 alunos da Universidade Regional do Cariri (URCA), compararam-se vítimas de bullying com um grupo de controle. Os resultados mostram diferenças significativas nos coeficientes de rendimento, desfavoráveis aos alunos que sofreram bullying. As sequelas desse fenômeno durante o ensino médio têm um impacto negativo duradouro no desempenho acadêmico, com possíveis implicações financeiras futuras. Essas descobertas enfatizam a necessidade de estratégias preventivas e intervenções eficazes nas escolas, visando proteger os estudantes e criar um ambiente escolar saudável que estimule o sucesso acadêmico e profissional
