Abstract

This research article addresses the precarization of salaried employment in
Mexico 2016. In this sense, the main objective is to analyze the influx of some
socio-demographic and labor variables in the levels of precarious work of salaried workers. The methodology used to carry out this objective is realized in two stages. In the first place, a cluster analysis is applied that allows to stratify the sample of salaried workers according to their precarious work levels in three
groups, not precarious, precariously low and precariously high. This makes it
easier to identify and rank salaried workers who have the most adverse working
conditions. Secondly, an ordinal logistic regression is estimated to measure the
incidence of socio-demographic and labor variables in precariousness levels.
It is concluded that before the impact of globalization and neoliberal measures,
precarious work has expanded, impacting even the most stable occupations,
in this sense the wage labor market is polarized in a majority that has adverse
working conditions and a minority that has acceptable working conditions. In
the same way, it is concluded that sex is an inconsequential factor in the levels
of labor precariousness.</p>}, number={3}, journal={Gaceta Laboral}, author={Nuñez García, Menahen Roberto and Robles Linares, Sergio Gaxiola Cuauhtémoc}, year={2020}, month={mar.}, pages={217 - 233} }
