Social work and Humanistic Psychology, both have the challenge of accompanying the individual’s processes of change towards self-realization and self-determination in their lives in a respectful and empathetic way. To do this, a tour of humanistic psychology will be carried out; historical background, objectives and characteristics, from its birth to the present, as well as the review of the contribution of humanistic therapies to social intervention models, from the detection of the common aspects of both fields in the intrinsic value of the person. Social Work and Humanism are based on the satisfaction of the basic needs of the individual before reaching their maximum potential, as well as the means to do so, taking into account their unconditional acceptance and how cultural and social factors affect the personality and behavior of individuals. people. Social work and its professional identity focuses on the identification of unmet social needs and support in obtaining them in an empathetic and respectful manner of the individual through relationships, these being an end in themselves. Therefore, both disciplines go hand in hand in the helping relationship.
Beatriz Martínez Pérez Copyright (c) 2025-11-19 2025-11-19 16 1 3 14 10.5281/zenodo.17639462 Working conditions of Social Work professionals in the Northeast region of Mexico http://www.produccioncientificaluz.org/index.php/interaccion/article/view/44758
The article examines the working conditions of graduates of the Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work in the Northeast Region of Mexico, between 2010 and 2022 for the development of strategies that contribute to professional unionization, salary demands and the demand for decent working conditions for professional prac- tice. The study was carried out from a mixed approach, for which qualitative and quantitative research techniques were applied, including surveys, documentary review and semi-structured interviews. The results obtained allow us to recognize that the working conditions of social workers in the Northeast of Mexico have been affected by precariousness, outsourcing and work overload; The main conclusions reached are that work overload predominates, the payment of salaries below the professional average, overtime work in many cases without any type of remuneration, and the growth of emotional affectation due to work overload and the multiplicity of assigned functions.
Carlos Lasso-Urbano Blanca Mirthala Tamez Valdez Copyright (c) 2025-11-19 2025-11-19 16 1 15 35 10.5281/zenodo.17639635 Social support, discrimination and management of cultural differences as predictors of family satisfaction among mixed-sex couples living in Spain http://www.produccioncientificaluz.org/index.php/interaccion/article/view/44759
Mixed couples in Spain face specific challenges that can impact their family satisfaction, a key factor in marital stability and divorce prevention. This research examines the influence of psychosocial factors, such as perceived discrimination, social support, and the management of cultural differences, on the family satisfaction of these couples from a Social Work perspective. Contextual and relational dimensions are analyzed through a cross-sectional correlational study with 146 heterosexual mixed couples recruited via snowball sampling. The results reveal that mutual support and the adoption of strategies that value dual cultures contribute to family stability, while discrimination represents a risk factor. Data segmentation between Spanish individuals and their foreign partners allows for the identification of specific dynamics within each group. The study highlights the role of culture and partner support in relationship stability, as well as the negative impact of religious differences and discrimination. This study provides a novel perspective by analyzing strategies that promote the apprecia- tion of dual cultures, which not only enhance couple’s family stability but also moderate the effect of religious differences. The findings underscore the need to design specific interventions that foster the integration and well-being of mixed couples within their social and community environment.
Gianluigi Moscato Aylin Mandak-Arjona Copyright (c) 2025-11-19 2025-11-19 16 1 36 57 10.5281/zenodo.17639748 Traditional and family values as the basis of gender attitudes of youth http://www.produccioncientificaluz.org/index.php/interaccion/article/view/44760
The article analyzes how the gender approach influences the formation of traditional family values, especially in young people affected by traumatic contexts. It proposes an education that combines gender roles with cultural values, adapting to social changes. It examines regional differences in Russia and their impact on gender attitudes. It is an important task of our society, and consequently of the entire national education system, to educate children and young people in the context of inculcating traditional and family values, awareness of the mission of men and women and preparing them to carry it out. At the same time, living for long periods in combat zones and on the front line, and being in prolonged traumatic situations, makes young people in the new regions of the Russian Federation the most vulnerable to this problem. The article offers a brief theoretical perspective to understand the problem of family and marriage values and traditions in modern society. It examines the traditional and family values of boys and girls in the historical and new regions of Russia and their influence on the formation of gender attitudes, according to cultural ideas about the role, position and purpose of men and women in society. Therefore, the gender approach allows considering the sociobiological characteristics of gender, the assimilation of norms of behavior and activity in society, as well as the interests, needs, and preferences inherent to a specific gender role.
Galia Biserova Galiya Ldokova Guzalia Shagivaleeva Copyright (c) 2025-11-19 2025-11-19 16 1 58 70 10.5281/zenodo.17639869 Opportunities for the social adaptation of early childhood within the family http://www.produccioncientificaluz.org/index.php/interaccion/article/view/44761
The study of social behavior has generated an interdisciplinary approach between psychology, social psychology and sociology. This theoretical convergence allows us to address social adaptation as a key expression of individual self-identification and its evolution, highlighting its relevance in the contemporary analysis of social and personal dynamics. The results of a study conducted in 2023 with 17 families with young children, characterized by adverse conditions (in terms of marital relationships, living conditions, and income levels), are presented, the findings revealed indications of authoritarian hypersocialization, in which the emphasis on a desired behavior mod- el does not always align with the social norms that govern the upbringing of younger generations. Instead, in families with more favorable conditions, parenting challenges tend to focus on material well-being, the health of children and parents, and disagreements about appropriate parenting methods. The influence of the previous generation (grandparents) plays a significant role in shaping family dynamics. Children raised in dysfunctional or single-parent homes have marked differences compared to their peers. They tend to have low self-esteem, which is often linked to family conflicts that negatively affect their moral and emotional well-being. Conversely, in families where both spouses contribute equally to the family budget, organize leisure activities, and share responsibility for parenting, the process of socializing children tends to be more successful.
Rahima Mahmudova Copyright (c) 2025-11-19 2025-11-19 16 1 71 84 10.5281/zenodo.17639974 Family institute and modern challenges in Azerbaijan: historical and ethnological research http://www.produccioncientificaluz.org/index.php/interaccion/article/view/44767
This article examines in detail the historical evolution of the Azerbai- jani family institution, the changes that took place in the traditional family relation- ship during the Soviet era and the years of independence. In addition, it was important to identify the mechanisms through which these factors influence organizational resilience under the conditions of limited funding faced by organizations operating in the social sphere. Understanding these mechanisms is essential for improving staff stability and the effectiveness of social organizations when resources are constrained. A mixed research design was used. The quantitative stage included a survey of 320 employees from 12 social organizations using validated methods: EQ-i 2.0 to assess emotional intelligence, a managerial communication quality questionnaire, a modified WEIMS scale for non-material motivation, and an adapted ORS scale for organizational resilience. The qualitative stage included 24 semi-structured interviews with managers and employees. Analysis was conducted using non-parametric methods and thematic coding. The results of the study reveal four key mechanisms of influence: emotional support, openness in communication, recognition of achievements, and participation in decision-making. The quality of managerial communications is the main mechanism through which emotional intelligence affects employee motivation. The research goal was to identify the mechanisms through which emotional contagion in management communications affects the motivation of employees at social non-profits in the context of achieving sustainable development principles. The study adopted a mixed-methods design. Validated quantitative methods were applied to assess emotional contagion, intrinsic motivation, value fit, and leadership styles among 267 employees from 18 non-profits. Following this, 15 indepth interviews with managers and six focus groups with employees were conducted to gain a deeper understanding of the results. Statistical analysis was conducted with nonparametric methods: Spearman’s correlation, the Mann-Whitney and Kruskal- Wallis tests, and mediation and moderation analysis with bootstrapping. The qualitative data underwent thematic analysis. Emotional contagion was concluded to be an effective mechanism for motivating the staff of social non-profit organizations, acting through value fit and enhanced by transformational leadership. The results provide practical guidelines for the development of HR strategies for the nonprofit sector, particularly for organizations focused on social work (e.g., involving volunteer work). Against this backdrop, the objective of this research is to critically reflect on how the political subjectivities of world leaders such as (Donald Trump and Emmanuel Macron), represent climate change and, simultaneously, to explore the potential of education for sustainability in the transformation of collective imaginaries and power elites. Through a hermeneutic methodology based on a mayeutic exercise, the interpretation of the sources consulted allows us to conclude that education for sustainability is presented as an ethical and, simultaneously, political commitment to life, capable of articulating resistance to ecological devastation and the creation of viable alternatives for the common future. The aim of the study is to identify the main approaches to inclusion, evaluate their effectiveness and compare the key factors influencing the implementation of inclusive strategies. The study uses a qualitative approach based on the synthesis of existing expert sources. A comparative content analysis of the four selected studies was conducted, complemented by a broader literature search, which enabled the identification of common and distinct features of inclusive approaches. The analysis was conducted based on thematic coding of key categories such as legislative frameworks, pedagogical strategies and support for pupils with learning disabilities. The results show that inclusive education for people with intellectual disabilities is influenced not only by legislative regulations, but also by the availability of special educational support, the approach of teachers and the degree of cooperation between schools and families. Effective models of inclusion emphasise individualised support, systematic teacher training and interdisciplinary cooperation. Given the rapid development of pedagogical methods and technological tools, it can be assumed that inclusive education will continue to change and require constant adaptation and innovation. The study contributes to a deeper understanding of the factors influencing inclusive education and offers recommendations for pedagogical practice, including the introduction of more flexible forms of support and improved teacher training. The methodological path focused on the review of different sources of information containing figures on the cause of death under study, which provided the base data for the estimation of a set of indicators of occurrence and frequency of homicides. The results reveal that, when studying this crime in Mérida, it is unavoidable to take into account the increase in deaths of undetermined intent and deaths under investigation, because probable cases of homicide are “hidden” in these categories, which leads to underestimating the indicators that are quantified. On the other hand, the behavior of the homicide figures in Mérida during the period studied, allowed us to identify differential patterns of oscillation of this crime, which experienced its highest values in 2008 and 2016. The fluctuations are marked by different events that help explain the observed time patterns.
Gustavo Alejandro Páez Silva Copyright (c) 2025-11-19 2025-11-19 16 1 255 272 10.5281/zenodo.17642601 Adults’ perspectives on value loss, declining social awareness, and paths for renewal http://www.produccioncientificaluz.org/index.php/interaccion/article/view/44794
The aim of this study is to examine the views of adults, as stakeholders of society, on the relationship between social sensitivity and values. This research was conducted in the case pattern, one of the qualitative research models, and the study group consisted of 85 volunteer adults. The data of the research were obtained from the answers given to four semi-structured interview questions and were analyzed with the content analysis method. According to the results, most participants associated social sensitivity with the value of respect and stated that social sensitivity has changed negatively due to the weakening of this value. The findings are largely consistent with previous studies in the field, showing that the erosion of values reduces collective awareness and solidarity. Based on these results, it is suggested that educational workshops designed to promote experiential and participatory learning may help reintroduce core values related to social consciousness. It is also expected that universities could serve as effective platforms for informative seminars aimed at raising awareness. This research reveals the perceptions of adults regarding the relationship between social sensitivity and value. It is expected to shed light on future research to be conducted in the field of social responsibility and education regarding the concepts of social sensitivity and value. In addition, community-based activities that emphasize sharing and cohesion, along with family- and child-focused initiatives, may contribute to strengthening unity. The aim is to identify key psychosocial stressors, assess perceived institutional support, and propose systemic measures to support mental health in correctional environments. A quantitative questionnaire survey was conducted among 34 professional staff members working in two correctional facilities in the Czech Republic. The survey consisted of both closed and open-ended questions targeting psychological strain, stress symptoms, coping strategies, perceived organizational support, and staff motivations. The vast majority of respondents (94%) reported experiencing symptoms of work-related stress, with chronic exposure to a highly controlled and emotionally demanding environment identified as a major factor. Thematic analysis highlighted primary stressors including poor lead- ership communication, manipulative inmate behavior, administrative overload, and lack of institutional recognition. Only a minority of respondents considered existing mental health support systems to be effective. Peer support, structured routines, and informal self-regulation techniques were the most commonly used coping strategies. Motivation to remain in the profession was primarily rooted in the perceived meaning- fulness of the work and financial stability. The findings emphasize the urgent need for systemic mental health support in the Czech prison service, including regular supervi- sion, stress resilience training, participatory management, and anonymous psychological counselling. The proposal, originated and promoted by the Fundación Social Voces de Esperanza, is structured on an interdependent and synergistic triptych of action: 1) the implementation of the “Dr. Ángel Adolfo Urdaneta Aguirre” Popular Medical Center for Oncological Patient Care (OncoVida Center), as the operational axis of direct care; 2) political advocacy for the approval of the Draft Law for the Comprehensive Protection of Oncological Patients in Zulia State, seeking to create the necessary legal-institutional framework, including the creation of the Zulia Oncology Institute (IZO); and 3) the consolidation of the Open Chair for Social Work, Resilience, and Oncological Citizenship (TSR-CO) at the University of Zulia (LUZ), as a fundamental pillar for the training of specialized human capital, applied research, and technical-scientific support for the model. Methodologically, the design, planning, and future evaluation of the model are based on the Logical Framework Methodology (LFM), ensuring management oriented towards measurable and verifiable results. The model not only aims to improve medical care, with goals such as serving 10,000 patients annually and reducing costs by 40% compared to the private sector, but also to strengthen social capital, promote equity, influence public policies, and align with Sustainable Develop- ment Goals (SDGs) 3 and 10. The socio-sanitary justification, the components of the model, its theoretical foundation (Civil Society Theory, Social Capital, Human Rights Approach), and its multidimensional sustainability strategy (financial, institutional, social, and environmental) are discussed in detail.
Angel Urdaneta Copyright (c) 2025-11-19 2025-11-19 16 1 317 334 10.5281/zenodo.17643173 Stress at work: how job demands affect employee well-being http://www.produccioncientificaluz.org/index.php/interaccion/article/view/44798
The aim of this study is to empirically test the nature of the relationship between job demands, job stress, and employee well-being. To achieve the research goal, a cross-sectional method was used using the Porter Satisfaction Questionnaire, the Diagnostic Stress Survey, and the Employment Insecurity Scale. Statistical analysis included mediation analysis and correlation analysis. The survey participants were 163 university teachers. The study found that work demands create psychological pressure and stress that reduce employees’ professional well-being by threatening the realization of their personal aspirations. The relationship between stress and employee well-being is mediated by the discrepancy between the desired state of need satisfaction and the actual state, as well as the importance of certain aspects of professional activity for the employee, which represents their value characteristic. The identified mediating effects expand existing ideas about the mechanisms of forming employee well-being and allow us to determine the directions of its psychological support in organizational prac- tice. Developing practical recommendations for psychological ensuring the well-being of employees in an organization should be a direction for further research.
Elena Voitenko Vladyslav Mozalov Oksana Zazymko Olena Shylovska Nataliia Boiko Copyright (c) 2025-11-20 2025-11-20 16 1 335 350 10.5281/zenodo.17643216 Sociopsychological factors that influence interest in science among students of educational specialties: the case of Ukraine http://www.produccioncientificaluz.org/index.php/interaccion/article/view/44799
In general terms, at the global level, interest in science among students has been analyzed from different perspectives. However, in our experience with qualitative research, the sociopsychological model is extremely interesting due to its significance, as it equally integrates internal motivations with factors from the social context to which the subjects of study belong. Using a phenomenological and hermeneutic methodology based on documentation, the objective of the study is to explore the material and symbolic elements that influence interest in science among students of teaching degrees in Ukraine. The conclusions argue that, in this particular context of war, young people do not see science as an academic abstraction—a cold and distant image that is sometimes held in everyday peacetime—but rather as an instrument of social transformation that will enable them, in due course, to rebuild their country. Science thus becomes an act of daily resistance in the face of the future.
Karina Oleksenko Irina Khavina Olga Pyurko Tetiana Khrystova Tetiana Zavialova Copyright (c) 2025-11-20 2025-11-20 16 1 351 363 10.5281/zenodo.17643317 Participatory action research for sustainable tourism in the post-conflict reconstruction of Ukrainian communities http://www.produccioncientificaluz.org/index.php/interaccion/article/view/44800
With the advent of a peace agreement between the warring parties soon, the process of rebuilding Ukrainian communities affected by the war requires creative social scientists who can deploy their theoretical and methodological repertoire in the service of regenerating the social fabric, which has been severely damaged by the conflict. In line with this thinking, the objective of this research was to reflect (epistemologically) on participatory action research (PAR) as a useful sociological tool for promoting sustainable tourism in the post-conflict reconstruction of Ukrainian communities affected by the war. To achieve this objective, a bibliographic research design was developed, anchored in the domains of critical and gnoseological reflection. In conclusion, it is argued that, apart from gathering emic information, PAR becomes a political and ethical act, a way for marginalized voices to express themselves and actively and personally reinterpret their own traumas and desires for the reconstruction of their spaces of coexistence.
Oksana Marchenko Tereza Mykytsei Natalia Babko Anatolii Postol Maryna Salnikova Copyright (c) 2025-11-20 2025-11-20 16 1 364 375 10.5281/zenodo.17643393 Rules for Authors http://www.produccioncientificaluz.org/index.php/interaccion/article/view/44801 Raima Rujano Copyright (c) 2025-11-20 2025-11-20 16 1 376 381
